Starting a new job is an exciting endeavor for anyone. New challenges, new colleagues, and new routines make this life-redefining time an unforgettable experience. It seems daily that censhare is giving someone this experience. For Patrick Elsässer, our newest Solution Developer in the Professional Services department, his unforgettable experience is a bit magnified. Patrick is not just a new employee going through the normal challenges that we all go through, he’s also a symbol for censhare; a symbol of the extraordinary growth we’re going through. Patrick is our 200th colleague!

“I am very happy to be the 200th employee but it doesn’t change anything for me. The entire censhare team in Munich gave me a very warm welcome before they even knew my employment number,” explained Patrick.

It’s no secret that censhare has conjured up something special. We’ve got great technology, wonderful vision, forward-thinking leadership, and have made a conscious decision to do whatever it takes to become the very best digital company in the space. For this reason, according to HR Manager Christina Gräßel, we invest a lot of time in the development of our people and our organization.

“We want to find and hire the people that really are the best in their fields and that also fit our company culture,” said Christina. “At the same time, we want to ensure that the employees we already have stay happy and committed. Finding the right balance of onboarding, training, and staying true to our culture is the HR department’s focus right now, which is why we’ve introduced the pulse surveys and will continue to introduce more continuous employee feedback systems.”

Even our HR department is growing to ensure that we have experts to find the best and the right talent and to make sure that they are adequately brought on board and made to feel at home in their censhare family.

Since Patrick’s employment number already puts him under the microscope, I asked him about his interview process and onboarding experience, both of which he said were exemplary, “my awesome job interview with Tatjana and Tobi made it clear that I want to work for censhare.”

Patrick is not only a symbol of censhare’s growth rate. He’s also a symbol of the caliber of people we are hiring at censhare. After studying information technology and computer linguistics at LMU and working for Apple he founded his own company called Hack Protection which developed security solutions for cities. Thanks to his technical background it took him only one day to feel comfortable working the coffee machines on every floor in the Munich office as well. With people like Patrick on board, censhare will turn the Isar Valley into Europe’s Silicon Valley.

Now that we’ve managed the big two-oh- oh there is no looking back. According to Christina we are not stopping here. “We’ve already hired 50 people this year and plan on hiring at least 50 more by the end of the year and we’ll have the same lofty goal of around 100 new colleagues in 2018,” Christina said. “Considering that there is hardly any attrition at censhare, it is likely that we will welcome our 400th employee much faster than it took for us to welcome Patrick.”

For those of you who are challenged by arithmetic, the plan is to double our current headcount within the next two years. Even as I write this we have already surpassed 205 employees.

By the way, for anyone curious about their employment number reach out to Chris or Christina in HR. Unless you are number 500 though don’t get too excited, I won’t be writing an article to celebrate your hiring!
